Punjabi Sets Feel Like Family, Telugu Shoots Are All Work: Yamini Malhotra On Experiencing Two Cinematic World

Yamini Malhotra On Experiencing Two Cinematic World

Actress Yamini Malhotra, who has made her mark in both Punjabi and Telugu cinema, recently opened up about the stark difference in the working cultures of the two industries and her take is as honest as it gets.

Speaking about her experience, Yamini shared how the energy and atmosphere on a Punjabi film set are vastly different from what she encountered while working in Telugu films.

"Shooting for a Punjabi film feels like a big fat wedding," "Everyone is so involved, there's food, laughter, music even if it's work, it feels like family coming together to enjoy the process. You build bonds, spend time together after shoots, and it's more personal."

In contrast, she describes Telugu sets as strictly professional.

"On Telugu sets, it's all about discipline and precision. Everyone comes, does their job, and goes back to their vanity once the shot is done. There's hardly any personal interaction it's very professional, almost mechanical at times."

Despite the difference, Yamini doesn't view either approach as better or worse. Instead, she appreciates both styles for what they offer the warmth and spontaneity of Punjabi cinema and the focus and efficiency of Telugu filmmaking.

With experience spanning various industries, Yamini continues to grow as a versatile performer, bringing adaptability and commitment to every project she takes on across India.
