Raid 2 Early Review: Ajay Devgn's Crime Thriller Drama Is 'Paisa Vasool', 'Blockbuster'

Raid 2 Early Review: Ajay Devgn's fans can't keep calm and rightfully so. After all, he is coming with the first full fledged release of the year. We are talking about Raid 2 which is the sequel of the 2018 release Raid. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 is a crime thriller drama which also feautres Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead. Needless to say, given the stupendous success of Raid, there has been massive buzz about Raid 2 making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Interestingly, while Ajay will be seen reprising his role of IRS Amay Patnaik, Vaani Kapoor has replaced Ileana D'Cruz to play the female lead. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh plays the role of lead antagonist Dada Manohar Bhai. Marking as Ajay's 4th collaboration with Riteish, Raid 2 revolves around Amay Patnaik conducting his 75th raid and this time it was on the premises of Dada Manohar Bhai. According to a post shared by self proclaimed critic Umair Sandhu, Raid 2 has blockbuster written over it. Giving the movie 3.5 stars, Umair wrote, "#Raid2 is PAISA VASOOL! #AjayDevgn looks strong and powerful playing the role of an honest IT officer who is not scared of anyone. He impresses everytime he delivers a punchline and emotes so much through his eyes. #riteishdeshmukh as the corrupt politician is equally good and gives Ajay a tough fight on screen. It is a realistic and hard-hitting thriller that keeps you hooked right till the end. Climax is the USP of film. Music is already SUPERHIT. Go for it!

Raid 2 has a runtime of 138.57 minutes, that is, 2 hours, 18 minutes and 57 seconds.

Interestingly, according to a report published by Sacnilk, Raid 2 has made a collection of Rs 1.1 crores as at 6:52 PM today with a sale of over 38 thousand tickets.

Meanwhile, Ajay recently got candid about Vaani Kapoor replacing Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead in Raid 2 and stated, "You see it in a lot of Hollywood films also. Still, Sean Connery is not the James Bond. It's the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in".
