Ranveer Singh Exits Don 3 After Dhurandhar Success, Chooses THIS Film As Top Priority: Report

Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 has reportedly suffered another setback, with Ranveer Singh said to have exited the project. The actor was earlier preparing for the franchise revival and was expected to start filming by the end of January 2026, but a new report signals fresh uncertainty.

According to the report, Ranveer Singh had already begun early groundwork for Don 3 after the makers recently restarted the long-delayed film. The project was planned as Farhan Akhtar's return to direction, with the shoot tentatively scheduled to roll towards late January 2026.

Don 3 casting shake-up and plans for a new leading man

The latest update claims the producers still intend to begin Don 3 by the end of January 2026 despite Ranveer Singh's alleged exit. The team has now started exploring alternate choices for a new male lead, even as other casting changes have already affected the film.

Earlier, Kiara Advani had reportedly opted out of Don 3 after becoming pregnant and then giving birth, prompting another reshuffle. Actor Kriti Sanon is said to have stepped in to replace Kiara Advani as the female lead, keeping the project moving while the makers rework their plans.

Don 3 exit linked to Dhurandhar success and future choices

Ranveer Singh is currently enjoying strong results for Dhurandhar, and the report links this success to the Don 3 decision. A source told Pinkvilla, "He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn't want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space."

The same source added that this concern over repeating a gangster image has shaped Ranveer Singh's shooting priorities. Ranveer Singh has, as per the report, requested producer Jai Mehta to advance the schedule of Pralay, which is described as a zombie-based film with an emotional core centered on a man's struggle to protect family during extreme hardship.

The source also said, "Now that he has walked out of Don 3, Ranveer is now personally involved in aligning dates and schedules for Jai Mehta's film to ensure the film moves quickly," suggesting Ranveer Singh is focusing attention on Pralay while the Don 3 team recalibrates.

Away from the Don 3 chatter, Ranveer Singh and spouse Deepika Padukone were seen at Mumbai airport late on Monday. The pair wore matching black outfits, walked hand in hand, and smiled for photographers before entering the terminal, as they headed out of the city for a holiday.
