A tragic car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro station resulted in eight fatalities and numerous injuries. Authorities have ruled out the possibility of a bomb blast, citing the absence of typical bomb blast indicators.

Delhi Police have confirmed that the explosion originated from a Maruti Suzuki Eeco car with two to three occupants. "An explosion happened in a moving car on the road. There is no crater at the spot. Therefore, we cannot say if it was a bomb blast. Also, no pellet/splinter injuries have been reported till now, which is the most common injury in bomb blasts," stated an official.
