Rishi Bissa Makes His Bollywood Debut Opposite Shishir Sharma in Culinary Drama ‘Rasa’

Actor Rishi Bissa is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Shishir Sharma in the culinary drama Rasa, which is set to release on 25th July. Directed by Angith Jayaraj and Preetish Jayaraj, and written by Rutuja Patil, the film also star Vishishtha Chawla, and Rajiv Kumar in key roles.

Talking about how the film happened, he said, "I believe Preetish and Anggith had their apprehensions about casting me for the role, but luckily Rutuja believed I could pull off the emotional turmoil of Varun well. The workshops I took helped a lot, and one of the pieces I had posted online convinced both of them that I could handle it. That led to further auditioning and finally, I got the part."

Speaking on working alongside veteran actors for a debut movie, he said, "It's such a mixed bag. There's fear, yes - but more than anything, there's so much to learn. I feel blessed that I got to work alongside someone who is not just exceptional at his craft but also incredibly warm and welcoming."

Opening up about his working experience with Shishir Sharma, he said, "It was a breeze. He's such a warm person and made me feel truly welcome on set. What I really admire is that when he's on set, he's just another actor grounded, collaborative, and generous. I'm grateful that this opportunity let me work with such an amazing artist, someone with boundless energy and deep passion for the craft. There's so much to learn from him."

Lastly, talking about his role and the preparation, he said, "I had a lot of fun prepping for this role. As soon as I was locked in, I went to a roadside Chinese restaurant to learn their ways of cooking and chopping. Much to my mother's dismay, I used to come home with 5-6 plates of badly made Chinese food every day. But I think I got better with it over time,the prep made me put on some serious weight."
