This unsettling event unfolded while Khan, along with his family, was asleep at their Bandra West home in the Satguru Sharan building. A confrontation ensued when the actor attempted to fend off the intruder, during which he sustained multiple stab wounds and was subsequently hospitalized. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, disclosed that Khan arrived at the hospital at 3:30 a.m., bearing six stab wounds, two of which were notably severe, with one being perilously close to his spine. A medical team, including Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is currently attending to him.

The Mumbai Police, in a statement to ANI, revealed that the altercation began after the intruder had a confrontation with Khan's maid. Khan intervened in an attempt to calm the situation but was instead attacked by the assailant. The police are thoroughly investigating the incident, with a senior IPS officer noting that the Mumbai crime branch is also conducting a parallel probe.

Khan's representatives released a statement confirming the actor is in surgery following what was described as an attempted burglary. Sources close to the situation indicated that Khan bravely defended his family without any weapon, engaging in a strenuous fight against the intruder despite the risk to his own safety.
