Sajid Khan Breaks Silence On MeToo Allegations After Years; Says 'I Thought Of Ending My Life'

Actor and director Sajid Khan, known for his work in Bollywood, has recently shared the profound impact that the #MeToo allegations had on his life. In 2018, during the production of Housefull 4, several women accused him of sexual harassment. This led to his removal from the project and a significant pause in his career.

Professional and Personal Struggles

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Sajid disclosed the emotional challenges he faced over the past six years. "I thought of ending my life many times in the last six years," he revealed, describing this period as "extremely bad." The absence of work and public scrutiny took a toll on him.

Despite being cleared by the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), Sajid found it difficult to re-establish himself in the industry. Financial difficulties forced him to sell his home and move into rented accommodation. He recalled starting to earn for his family at 14 after his father, Kamran Khan's death left them in debt.

Family Responsibilities

Reflecting on personal losses, Sajid expressed regret that his mother, Menaka Irani, wasn't alive to see him attempt to rebuild his life. "More than her son, I was her caretaker. Life has been quite tough," he admitted, highlighting their close bond.

The director of the Housefull series spoke about how challenging it has been to cope with recent hardships. "Even after IFTDA cleared me, getting back on my feet has been a slow and painful process," he said, acknowledging the difficulty of regaining his place in Bollywood.

Career Setbacks

After stepping down from Housefull 4, Farhad Samji replaced Sajid as director. Over his career, Sajid directed films like Heyy Babyy, Darna Zaroori Hai, and Himmatwala. Despite controversies surrounding him, he is trying to move forward with his life.
