Salman Khan New Death Threat: 26-Year-Old from Vadodara Detained By Worli Police, Later Released on Notice
Mumbai's Worli Police arrested a man for threatening Bollywood star Salman Khan through WhatsApp. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about celebrity safety amid multiple threats targeting Khan over the years.

In a recent development, Mumbai's Worli Police apprehended a 26-year-old man from Vadodara, Gujarat, after he was accused of threatening Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The suspect, identified as Mayank Pandya, allegedly used a WhatsApp message to convey his lethal intentions towards the actor. Despite his detention and subsequent interrogation by the police, Pandya was released with a notice. The incident has reignited concerns over the safety of celebrities, particularly Salman Khan, who has been the target of multiple threats in the past.
The threatening communication was not just directed at Salman Khan but also included a menacing promise to plant a bomb in the actor's car. This message was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police's WhatsApp helpline with a chilling warning: "We will enter your house and kill you." Although the message did not explicitly mention the Bishnoi gang—a name that has surfaced in prior threats against Khan—the language used bore a striking resemblance to earlier intimidations. The police swiftly acted on this alarming threat, registering an FIR and tracing the phone number back to Vadodara, which led to Pandya's detention.
Salman Khan's History with Threats
Salman Khan's experiences with threats and intimidation are not new. In 2023, the actor was the recipient of two threatening emails, adding to the tally of dangers he has faced over the years. Furthermore, his father, Salim Khan, encountered a direct threat when a note, believed to be from the Bishnoi gang, was discovered during his morning walk. The most alarming incident occurred in April 2024, when operatives, allegedly from the same gang, fired five rounds outside Khan's residence. The Mumbai Crime Branch responded with several arrests in connection to the attack.
Despite being provided Y+ category security, the threats against Salman Khan have persisted. In July 2024, an attempted breach of his convoy by an individual on a motorcycle was reported, followed by another threat in November 2024. This latter threat involved a WhatsApp message sent to the traffic police, demanding Rs 5 crore and threatening severe consequences if the demand was not met. The police made an arrest in Karnataka in relation to this threat, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by the actor.
Investigation and Security Measures
The message threatening Salman Khan was discovered on April 14, after being sent in the early hours of the previous day. It explicitly threatened to kill the actor and made a clear reference to planting a bomb in his vehicle. The rapid identification and reaction to such threats underscore the vigilance of Mumbai's police force in safeguarding public figures.
The latest incident involving Pandya is currently under investigation, as the police seek to understand his motives and any potential connections to previous threats against Khan. The recurrent threats against Salman Khan underscore the challenges of ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals, despite stringent security measures. The authorities remain committed to thwarting any harm directed towards the actor, highlighted by the rapid response to the latest threat and the ongoing investigation into its origins and potential links to broader criminal activities.
