Sardar Ji 3 Controversy: Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is under fire after unveiling the trailer for his upcoming Punjabi movie, Sardaar Ji 3. The film features popular Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, which has sparked backlash. This reaction follows the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, after which Indian film federations imposed a strict ban on Pakistani artists participating in Indian films.

Despite Sardaar Ji 3 being filmed before the attack, and Diljit announcing it won't release in India, some social media users criticized him. They labelled him 'insensitive' and 'shameless' for promoting a film with a Pakistani actress during such a tense period.

Industry's Firm Stance on Ban

Following the Pahalgam incident, Indian film federations collectively decided to prohibit all Pakistani artists from working in Indian projects. They also warned Indian artists that collaborating with Pakistani talent could lead to a boycott. Despite this, Diljit proceeded with Sardaar Ji 3's overseas release, drawing mixed reactions from fans.

Singer B Praak added fuel to the controversy by sharing a cryptic message on Instagram. His post read: "Kayin artist apna zameer he bech chuke ne. Fiteh mooh tuhade (Many artists have sold their conscience. Shame on you)." Although B Praak didn't name anyone directly, netizens speculated it was aimed at Diljit due to the timing of the post.

Sardaar Ji 3 stars not only Diljit and Hania but also Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, among others. Directed by Amar Hundal and written by Rakesh Dhawan, the film is set for an overseas release on June 27. Diljit co-produced it alongside Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu.

Meanwhile, Diljit is gearing up for another project titled Border 2. He will star alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and others. The filming for this Bollywood movie has already commenced.
