Sardar Ji 3 Row | Diljit Dosanjh Finally Speaks Out On Controversy, Hania Aamir Casting: Situation Is Not...

Diljit Dosanjh addresses the controversy surrounding Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Hania Aamir, amid the backdrop of increasing tensions between India and Pakistan. The film's international release on June 27 aims to navigate these challenges while prioritising financial considerations.

Sardar Ji 3 Controversy: Diljit Dosanjh has spoken out about the controversy surrounding his upcoming film, Sardar Ji 3. The movie, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, has faced backlash due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Diljit clarified that the film was completed before these tensions arose.

Following a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 lives, Indian film bodies like the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated their opposition to Pakistani artists in Indian films. The release of Sardar Ji 3's trailer intensified this sentiment, leading FWICE to call for a boycott.

International Release Planned; Diljit Dosanjh REACTS

In response to the situation, the producers have decided not to release Sardar Ji 3 in India. Instead, they plan an international release on June 27. Diljit supports this decision, acknowledging that circumstances are beyond their control and that significant financial investments are at stake.

"Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai," said Diljit Dosanjh during an interview with BBC Asian Network.

He added, "Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."

Despite Diljit's explanation, FWICE remains dissatisfied. BN Tiwari, FWICE President, expressed disappointment over Diljit's choice to work with a Pakistani actor. He stated that this decision disrespects Indian sentiments and questions Diljit's loyalty.
