Sitaare Zameen Par vs Maa: Aamir Khan is all over the headlines and for all the right reasons. After all, Mr Perfectionist is returning to the big screen after a gap of three years and the audience couldn't be less happier. The superstar is here with the much talked about Sitaare Zameen Par which is said to be the spiritual sequel to the 2007 release Taare Zameen Par. The sports comedy drama is helmed by RS Prasanna and is the official remake of the 2018 release Spanish film Champions.

Apart from Aamir, the movie also features Genelia Deshmukh in the lead marking her first onscreen collaboration with Mr Perfectionist. Interestingly, Sitaare Zameen Par revolves around a suspended basketball coach who has been ordered to perform a community service wherein he has to train a team of players with disabilities and prepare them for an upcoming tournament.

While Sitaare Zameen Par is set to hit the theatres on June 20, it is already facing tough competition from Kajol's upcoming mythological horror film Maa which is scheduled to release on June 27. Marking Kajol's debut it horror genre, Maa revolves around a mother who is willing to go to any extent to save her child from supernatural forces. The movie also features Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and has managed to create a massive buzz.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal revealed that Maa has managed to overpower Aamir Sitaare Zameen Par in terms of buzz despite having a week to go for release. He even cited reasons for the same and stated, "Maa ka trailer Sitaare Zameen Par se bht better tha. Although dono different kind of films hain but fir bhi agar aap overall impact dekhe, layman k nazariye se jo bs cinema dekhne jata hai, to uski nazar pehle Maa pe jayegi. Maa ko ek aur benefit hai ki regular cinema dekhne jate hain uske ilawa bhi jo mass audience hai wo Maa ke paas hai jo ki Sitaare Zameen Par ke paas nahi hai".

Rohit also emphasised that Maa has managed to have a huge impact on the audience courtesy of Shaitaan's success and will also be getting the support of the female audience and youngsters. Rohit Jaiswal also mentioned that despite Aamir's massive stardom, Maa is likely to beat Sitaare Zameen Par at the box office. Most importantly, Rohit asserted that Sitaare Zameen Par has become Aamir's first film whose music has failed to strike a chord with the audience.

Well, it will be interesting to see if Sitaare Zameen will change the game with a good word of mouth post release.
