Sonu Sood Arrest Warrant: Actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood came under the spotlight over his alleged involvement in a fraud case. On Thursday (February 6), the Fateh actor hit headlines after it was reported that a court in Ludhiana had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in a Rs 10 lakh fraud case.

It all started when a Ludhiana-based attorney named Rajesh Khanna accused the actor of indirectly deceiving him, through his association with Mohit Shukla (identified as primary suspect), to invest in a fake Rijika coin.

Arrest Warrant Against Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood landed in controversy over his alleged involvement in the Rs 10 lakhs fraud case. According to ANI, Ramanpreet Kaur, Ludhiana judicial magistrate, issued a warrant against the actor. In the order, the Ludhiana court directed Oshiwara Police Station's officer-in-charge to arrest the Bollywood actor, as reported by HT.

"Sonu Sood, (S/o, W/o, D/o) resident of R/O H.NO 605/606 Casablanca Apartment, has been duly served with summon(s) or warrant(s), but he/she has failed to attend (absconds and keeps out of the way for the purpose of avoiding service of a summon(s) or warrant(s)). You are hereby ordered to arrest and bring the said Sonu Sood before the Court," the court order read, as per ANI.

Sonu Sood Issues First Statement In Arrest Warrant Against Him In Fraud Case

Hours after the allegations, Sonu Sood took to X (now Twitter) and issued his first statement on the same. Addressing the fraud case, Sood put the record straight that he was "summoned as a witness" in the case and "the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised."

Sonu's official statement read, "We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation. Our lawyers have responded and on 10th February 2025 we will give a statement that clarifies our non involvement in the matter.
We are neither brand ambassadors nor are we associated in any way.
This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs become soft targets.
We will take strict action in this matter. (sic)"

As per reports, the next hearing of the alleged Rs 10 lakh fraud case is scheduled for 10th February 2025 (Monday).
