According to reports, Sunjay Kapur passed away suffering a heart attack during a polo match. Yes, you read that right! Suhel Seth, a known actor and author, confirmed Sunjay Kapur's passing and shared his sorrow in a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter).

He wrote, "Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar...Om Shanti."

WHO WAS SUNJAY KAPUR?

Sunjay Kapur was a businessman by profession. He was the Chairman of Sona Comstar and was counted among the leaders in the Indian automotive industry. A passionate polo lover, he owned the Sona Polo team and actively played the sport, taking part in both national and international tournaments.

Just a few hours before his death, Sunjay Kapur's last post on social media was a reaction to the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad that took place earlier on June 12.

He wrote, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. (folded hands emoji) #planecrash"

WHY KARISMA KAPOOR AND SUNJAY KAPUR GOT DIVORCED?

For those unaware, Sunjay and Karisma tied the knot in 2003, but their marriage faced troubles over the years and eventually ended in a bitter separation in 2014. The couple welcomed two children together - a daughter named Samaira and a son named Kiaan.

Reports suggest that Karisma Kapoor married Sunjay Kapur following her mother Babita Kapoor's advice, though her father Randhir Kapoor was not in favor of the match. Over time, their marriage ran into trouble, and the couple eventually parted ways after a highly publicized and controversial legal battle.
