Sunjay Kapur Funeral: In a shocking turn of events, Karisma Kapur's former husband Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12, 2025. The news came as a shock to everyone as Sunjay breathed his last at the age of 53. According to media reports, Sunjay Kapur died of a fatal heart attack. The media reports suggested that he had allegedly swallowed a bee while playing a game of polo in the United Kingdom. It was reported that Sunjay Kapur had complained of discomfort during the game and collapsed on the ground.

While the news of Sunjay's demise was confirmed by Suhel Seth, there were reports that his mortal remains will be brought to India for the last rites. To note, Sunjay Kapur is survived by his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur, and his four kids Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raaj Kapoor (from his second marriage with Karisma Kapoor), Azarias Kapur (with his third wife Priya) and Safira Chatwal (from Priya's first marriage). Sunjay Kapur's last rites took place in the national capital and his family and friends were seen paying their last respects

To note, Karisma Kapoor had flown to Delhi with kids Samaira and Kiaan Raj this morning (June 19). And now, inside pics from the funeral ceremony have surfaced wherein Kiaan Raj Kapoor was seen breaking into tears as he bid adieu to his father. In the pics, Karisma Kapoor was seen holding her son, who was quite emotional during Sunjay Kapur's last rites.

Karisma Kapoor's sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan had also flown to Delhi to attend Sunjay Kapur's funeral. In the pics, Kareena was seen getting emotional as she stood in Karisma's support during the cremation.

For the uninitiated, Sunjay Kapoor had married Karisma Kapoor in September 2003. However, they were officially divorced in 2016. Though they did wash each other's dirty linen in public initially, the former couple was lately seen maintaining a cordial bond.
