Sunjay Kapur Funeral: Late Businessman’s Friend Pens An Emotional Note; Says ‘You Left This World Doing…’

Sunjay Kapoor's Friend's Tribute: In a tragic incident, Sunjay Kapur, the former spouse of Karisma Kapur, passed away on June 12, 2025. His sudden demise at 53 left many in disbelief. Reports indicate that Sunjay suffered a heart attack after allegedly swallowing a bee during a polo match in the UK. It was also reported that he felt unwell and collapsed during the game. Ever since the news of Sunjay's unfortunate demise surfaced, condolence messages have been in order from his friends and family.

For the uninitiated, Suhel Seth confirmed the unfortunate news of Sunjay's passing on social media. Sunjay is survived by his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur and four children: Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raaj Kapoor from his marriage with Karisma, Azarias Kapur with Priya, and Safira Chatwal from Priya's previous marriage. While he breathed his last in the United Kingdom, his mortal remains were brought to Delhi for the funeral which took place on June 19, 2025. Amid this, Sunjay's close friend penned an emotional note for the late businessman.

Taking to Instagram, Sunjay Kapur's friend shared a happy picture with the late businessman. He wrote, "SUNJAY KAPUR. FAMILY, CALM, FUNNY, FANATIC FOR SPORTS, but the most important GOOD PEOPLE! This are words that come to my head when i remember you. I told your wife Priya that You left this world doing what you loved - your passion RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE FIELD On top of a Grey horse. WE will miss you a lot SJ. we will never forget you. Thank you for everything. Rest in peace".

Meanwhile, Sunjay's former wife Karisma was seen flying to Delhi with her kids for the funeral. In fact, their son Kiaan Raj Kakpoor was seen breaking down as he paid his last respects to his father. On the other hand an emotional Karisma and Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen holding the kids during the difficult times.

For the uninitiated, Sunjay Kapoor had married Karisma Kapoor in September 2003. However, they were officially divorced in 2016. Though they did wash each other's dirty linen in public initially, the former couple was lately seen maintaining a cordial bond.
