Sunjay Kapur’s Death: Kangana Reacts To Karisma’s Ex-Husband’s Demise; Calls It ‘Unbelievable’ & ‘Bizarre’

Kangana Ranaut On Sunjay Kapur's Death: In a shocking turn of events, Karisma Kapoor's former husband Sunjay Kapur breathed his last on June 12, 2025. The news came hours after the gut-wrenching Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad which killed over 240 people. According to media reports, Sunjay Kapoor breathed his last at the age of 53. It is also reported that Sunjay Kapur died of a heart attack while playing the game of polo. Reportedly, he passed away in the United Kingdom and his demise was confirmed by Suhel Seth who called Sunjay's death a 'tragic loss'

As per a report published in News18, Sunjay accidentally swallowed a bee while playing polo which allegedly stung his throat. The reports also suggested that Sunjay felt a lot of discomfort initially, he stopped the game and was walking off the field before suffering the cardiac arrest. While Sunjay's family is yet to share an official statement, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Malaika Arora were seen rushing to Karisma's residence in Mumbai to be with her and kids during the difficult times

Kangana Ranaut REACTS To Sunjay Kapur's Demise

Amid this, Kangana Ranaut became the first celeb to react to Sunjay's demise and called it unbelievable and bizarre. Taking to her Instagram story, Kangana wrote, "In another unbelieavable event, Sunjay Kapoor (Krishma Kapoor's ex husband) was on the polo ground, a bee went into his mouth (yes madhumakkhi on the polo ground) stung him and blocked his windpipe, he couldn't breath so he asked the game to be stopped but immediately died of a cardiac arrest. Such a tragic news. Also I am done with trying to make sense of all the bizarre events that 2025 is bringing into our lives. Everyone stay safe and keep praying to God".

To note, Sunjay is survived by is survived by present wife Priya Sachdev Kapur who happens to be his third wife (after Nandita Mahtani and Karisma Kapoor) and four kids - Samaira Kapoor, Kiaan Raj Kapoor (with Karisma Kapoor), Azarias (with Priya Sachdev) and Safira Chatwal (from Priya Sachdev's first marriage).

For the uninitiated, Sunjay Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor tied the knot in September 2003 but finalized their divorce in 2016. Despite their highly publicized disagreements in the past during their ugly divorce, the former couple has since maintained an amicable relationship. Notably, Priya, Sunjay's current partner, has also developed a warm connection with his and Karisma's children, Kiaan and Samaira, often sharing pictures with them.
