Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri: Afnan Fazli On Bonding With Kartik; Says 'It Was Really Fun'
Afnan Fazli reflects on the Croatia shoot for Tu Mera Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri, emphasising the close-knit cast, late-night downtime, and bonding through football, ferry journeys, and shared meals across Vis Island, Trogir, and Split. The experience contributed to a cohesive team dynamic and personal career growth.
Afnan Fazli, who plays Shoaib in Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, described the Croatia shoot as a dream-like chapter. The actor said the project gave a rare mix of work, travel and strong friendships, with long days on set followed by relaxed evenings with the team. Recalling how quickly everyone gelled, Afnan shared that time with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday never felt like work. "It was an amazing experience working with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. It was really fun to hang out with them, and even post-shooting hours were more fun". The actor said the bond carried over into almost every break.

Afnan Fazli on Croatia shoot memories and cast bonding
Afnan said the off-camera moments often stretched late into the night. The entire group relaxed together once filming wrapped. "We would chill at the beach, play music, dance, everyone would be there. They are extremely humble and sweet." According to Afnan, such evenings helped the cast feel more like a close-knit group of friends.
Sport also became a key link for Afnan Fazli and Kartik Aaryan during the Croatia schedule. One of Afnan’s fondest memories involved casual football games with Kartik Aaryan between commitments. "We used to play football together a lot. Croatian football is very famous, and we bonded a lot through that. We also used to eat together often," Afnan shared.
Afnan Fazli on Croatia locations and travel for Tu Mera Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri
The shoot for Tu Mera Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri took the team across several scenic parts of Croatia, which deeply impressed Afnan Fazli. "The beauty of Croatia was mesmerising. We didn't stay in just one place we travelled across islands like Vis Island, Trogir, and Split, staying four to five days at each location," Afnan said, calling the constant travel a highlight.
To move between these Croatian islands, Afnan Fazli and the team relied on frequent ferry rides. These trips also became informal hangout spots. "We often travelled by ferry, which had a gaming arena onboard where we'd play football together." The mix of sea journeys, games and shared meals strengthened the easy rapport within the unit.
| Croatia location | Details shared by Afnan Fazli |
|---|---|
| Vis Island | Part of the island schedule, around four to five days of stay. |
| Trogir | Included in the travel plan, with a similar length of stay. |

Afnan Fazli on meeting Karan Johar and growing career
Another big moment for Afnan Fazli came at the film’s screening, where Afnan met Karan Johar for the first time. "I met him Karan Sir at the screening. It still feels like a dream. I'm still pinching myself. Ever since I was a child, I used to look up to him and dream of getting a picture with him as a fan... To now being part of his film and then getting a picture with him as someone who worked on the film, it's a completely different feeling. He's really humble and sweet."
Sharing more about personal roots, Afnan Fazli pointed out that the journey started in Pulwama, Kashmir, far from big film hubs. Alongside Tu Mera Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri, Afnan also had a series release this month, Real Kashmir FC on Sony Liv, adding another project to a growing screen portfolio.
