Vidya Balan Slams Misleading AI-Generated Content Featuring Her, "I Urge Everyone To Verify Information..."

Vidya Balan has addressed the spread of a viral video featuring her likeness, clarifying that it is AI-generated and does not reflect her views or work. Taking to Instagram, she issued a strong statement urging people to verify content before sharing and to be mindful of misleading AI-generated material.

The actress shared a video post explaining the situation and wrote, "There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp, which appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic. I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content."

Vidya Balan was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Madhuri Dixit, Kartik Aaryan, where she reprised her role of Manjulika in the horror-comedy which is the threequel of Bhool Bhulaiyaa released in 2007. After the massive success of the film, Vidya said to Indian Express elaborating her emotions on this, "Better than I could have imagined and honestly I had not imagined this. I never imagined that after 17 years I would do a Bhool Bhulaiyaa again and bring back to life Manjulika. I had not imagined that I would get so much love for it. I am very happy, I am so happy that the film is doing so well."

For her upcoming project, Vidya hasn't announced it yet.
