Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri As The Bengal Files Selected

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Bengal Files arrived in cinemas, emerging as one of the boldest films in Indian cinema. Seamlessly weaving between the past and the present, the film sheds light on the grim realities of Direct Action Day, 16th August 1946. Stirring conversations across the nation, the film also secured a release in West Bengal after overcoming an initial ban, standing as a testament to the strength of a powerful and significant narrative. Now, the film has added yet another achievement to its journey and has been selected for the Indian Panorama at International Film Festival Of India (IFFI).

As The Bengal Files selected in Indian Panorama, filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri said, "The Bengal Files being selected for Indian Panorama is not just an honour - it's a reminder that truth still has a place in Indian cinema. This film was made from pain, not politics; from silence, not noise. I dedicate this recognition to every artist who dares to tell stories that make the powerful uncomfortable and the voiceless visible."

The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions, is part of Vivek's Files trilogy, which includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. The film released in theatres on September 5, 2025.
