From fondly talking about her mother to discussing the scope of improvement in the industry in representation aspect, Nikhita barred her heart out in a thoughtful interaction.

WHO IS NIKHITA SOURCE OF INSPIRATION?

"I am very fortunate to have grown up around inspiring wopmen. My mother, first of all, being one of the most inspirational women I think I've ever met. She is a working mother, who raised me with love, care and so much attention," the Jugnu singer quipped.

Calling her mother a 'remarkable woman', Nikhita said that her mum is the 'true Maa Durga of her life'.

"As I was saying, being a woman from Kolkata, I think it's a very matriarchal society that I've grown up with. And I'm so fortunate to have done so because I really, you know, grew up with such strong women around me. My grandmother, all my teachers, so many women who have sort of raised me, as they say, you know, it takes a village to raise a child. And truly, the village I grew up in had such wonderfully strong and bold women," she added.

WAS IT DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE THINGS?

The power-packed performer revealed what shaped her as a person. She stated, "And I think it's definitely shaped who I am. And the fact that I'm in the field of art and cinema, I get to see more and more strong minded and creative women around me who really shape the world around them. And it gives me so much joy to work with so many strong women.

When asked how easy or difficult was it to navigate things in her career. she said, "I feel very blessed to have, you know, had have met the right kind of composers and artists who have definitely, you know, made the collaborations and the work that I've done in in the art field meaningful."

"And I wouldn't say it's very difficult, but I would say that there is a lot of change that we can still see in our industry as well, where we can have, you know, more. Strong representation of women, whether it's in playback, singing, or the technical fields in cinema and in music. And I really feel that a lot more can be done in the film and music industry," Nikhita expressed her thoughts as she spoke about the scope of improvement in the showbiz world when it comes to the representation of women.
