Netizens School Swara Bhaskar For Latest Tweet On Chhaava
Swara Bhaskar shared a tweet on February 19 calling out and wrote, "A society that is more enraged at the heavily embellished partly fictionalised filmy torture of Hindus from 500 years ago than they are at the horrendous death by stampede & mismanagement + then alleged JCB bulldozer handling of corpses - is a brain & soul-dead society. #IYKYK"
After her tweet went viral, netizens didn't recieve it well, and bashed the actress. One user wrote, "Yes swara...#Chhaava movie was fictionalised. Had the makers shown the original t0rture,Censor board would have shown objection to the release of this film..Your husband Cult did massive atrocities under Mughal rule. More movies will come..You just learn to cope harder mleccha."
Another wrote, "Highly fictionalised filmy torture? Aurangzeb's own biography bares out in graphic details the torture he meted out on Chhatrapati Sambhaji for refusing to convert to Islam. Indeed, history is replete with such incidents when Muslim invaders brutalised non-believers in the name of Islam, including Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur and Bhai Mati Das."
One user commented, "Torture in original history is so horrific that film maker had to tone it down to get release of movie... fking Mughals were barbarians!"
One wrote calling it a 'fake claim', "Fake claims as usual! No JCB was used for handling dead bodies, stop spreading misinformation. No one is denying unfortunate stampede; But it's the public discussing the movie, not the govt. We know your hate for the film is for obvious reasons, but don't try to demean sacrifice and suffering of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj."
One wrote by calling Swara's claim 'blasphemous', "You're really talking crap Swara ! You obviously never studied the history of India or the history of the Maratha Kings. The outrageous crap done by Aurangzeb and Mughal kings on our Maratha warriors and Chattrapati is legendary. The Maratha empire was legendary through out Europe & Asia. The bravery & the wars fought by our Maharaj Chatttrapati Shivaji & Maharaj Chattrapati Sambhaji are the stuff of legends the world over. Incidentally Maharaj also had Muslim generals & soldiers in his army. The brutal torture of Hindus by the Mughals is also recorded numerous times . Even British & Chinese HK libraries carry tomes on this period- heck so does the NY public Library. To deny the atrocities of the Mughals empire is foolhardy, but for someone who was born a Hindu Indian to wear blinkers and call it fiction, is Blasphemous !"
Chhaava revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Maharaj, and how he was brutally tortured and eventually killed by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The movie stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Divya Dutta, among others.
