Bandar marks Deol’s first collaboration with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The screenplay comes from Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, known for work on Paatal Lok and Kohrra. In the film, Deol plays Sameer Mehra, a former rockstar whose career collapses after an accusation of sexual assault by a character portrayed by Sapna Pabbi.
