After watching the first-day-first-show, critics shared their thoughts about Alpha, calling it the 'weakest film in YRF spyverse'. While Pathaan, Ek Tha Tiger and War earned positive reviews, Alia Bhatt's action thriller has received mixed reviews from the critics.
Dhurandhar has set the benchmark too high after smashing box office records. Be it the high-octane action sequences or the intriguing storyline, Aditya Dhar's directorial had all the required ingredients for a successful spy thriller.
Even before release, netizens started comparing Alpha with Dhurandhar, which is completely unjustified. As the movie was released, critics also mentioned that Alpha lacked memorable moments and that the storyline was devoid of substance.
One reviewer said that the 'movie tried hard to manufacture a few mass moments' but failed to do so. He described the core storyline as weak, adding that the screenplay played to impress.
