Kangana Ranaut, known for direct comments on the Hindi film industry, linked the issue to her own work choices. Kangana Ranaut was asked if clear limits are set when accepting roles. The question focused on whether Kangana Ranaut avoids scenes that may objectify women on screen.

Answering this, Kangana Ranaut told PTI, "By and large, as per my experience, it has always been that when I agree to do a film, there are so many various perspectives… you can bring light to that and say, 'Thoda sa aisa bhi sound kar raha hain yeh'. Kangana Ranaut added that most directors and writers do not set out to reduce women to objects. According to Kangana Ranaut, a female actor can still step in and say if something appears odd or disrespectful. Kangana Ranaut said teams usually agree, as writing rooms are rarely operating with bad intent.

To explain the shared process, Kangana Ranaut noted that once an actor agrees to a project, the film becomes a joint effort. Kangana Ranaut suggested that concern over scenes can be raised during this stage. Changes can then be made collectively, so the final cut reflects everyone’s comfort.

The wider row over Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes in Peddi pushed the director to address viewers directly. Buchi Babu Sana wrote, "As a filmmaker, I believe cinema should entertain, inspire, and connect with audiences. It should never make anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected. We have heard the feedback regarding certain scenes in Peddi and have taken it seriously. I have always had immense respect for women, both on and off screen, and it was never our intention to objectify or disrespect any female character."
