Arjun Bewakoof Actor Shikhar Mishra Opens Up

Speaking about what made him choose Arjun Bewakoof, Shikhar Mishra said, "What really pulled me towards Arjun Bewakoof was the honesty of the script. The world of the film feels very real but at the same time slightly quirky and unpredictable, which I personally enjoy as an actor. Coming from theatre, I'm always interested in characters that have layers and contradictions, and this project offered that space to explore. It felt like a story where I could genuinely contribute something as a performer."

Talking about what excited him the most about being part of the film, he said, "Honestly, the people behind the film. When you work on independent projects, the energy on set becomes very important because everyone is there purely for the love of storytelling. That passion is very infectious. For me, being part of a team that is deeply invested in the film makes the whole experience exciting and meaningful."

Opening up about collaborating with actors like Sanjay Mishra and Rajesh Tailang, he said, "It's a big learning experience. Actors like Sanjay Mishra and Rajesh Tailang have such a natural and effortless presence on screen. Watching them perform from close quarters is inspiring because you realise how much depth they bring to even the simplest moments. As someone who also mentors actors, I value these experiences a lot because you keep learning and evolving with every project."

Speaking about exploring the neo-noir dark comedy genre in the film, he said, "I think what excites me about this genre is the contrast. You're dealing with dark situations, but there's also humour hidden in the absurdity of life. As an actor, the challenge is to stay truthful to the character and not 'play the comedy,' but allow it to emerge naturally from the situation. That balance between darkness and humour is something I'm really looking forward to exploring."

Sharing his thoughts on trusting a new director for the project, he said, "For me, every project begins with trust. When I spoke to the director, I could see the clarity and sincerity he had about the story he wanted to tell. That confidence makes it easier for an actor to step into the process and collaborate freely. Sometimes fresh voices bring a very honest perspective to filmmaking, and that can be very refreshing for everyone involved."
