Asha Bhosle Death: In one of the most heartbreaking news from Bollywood, legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92. The National Award Winning singer, who holds the Guinness world record of recording over 12,000 songs across more than 20 Indian languages in a career spanning over eight decades, breathed her last in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital today (April 12, 2026). Her unfortunate demise has sent down a wave of shock and grief across the nation and celebs from all walks of life of have been mourning the loss. To note, the news of Asha Bhosle's demise came just a day after she was rushed to the hospital.

While it was reported that Asha Bhosle was rushed to hospital for alleged cardiac arrest, her granddaughter Zania Bhosle confirmed that it she was hospitalised 'due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection'. The media reports also suggested that she admitted in the ICU and was critical. As Asha Bhosle passed away, her demise was confirmed by her son Anand Bhosle who told the reporters, "She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park".

As fans are mourning the loss, Asha Bhosle's last post on Instagram is going viral. The post was shared in collaboration and was an animated pic of veteran singer in Varanasi. The caption had Asha's words about the song 'The Shadowy Light', Varani and the river Ganga. To note, the post was shared nearly a month before Asha Bhosle's demise.

On the other hand, Asha Bhosle's last video is also grabbing a lot of eyeballs which was shared on the occasion of Ramadan. It was a video message for her fans wishing them on the auspicious festival. It was captioned as, "As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Asha Bhosle and team wishes you and your loved ones a blessed and joyous Ramadan Kareem. May this sacred month bring peace to your heart, reflection to your spirit, and warmth to your home".

Meanwhile, Hema Malini took to micro-blogging site Twitter and mourned Asha Bhosle's demise and wrote, "Asha Tai no more! I just can't believe how some one so full of life, she who lent so much vivacity and character to her songs has left us grieving🙏 It is especially hard for me as I have an emotional connect with Asha ji - she has made many of my songs so popular with her unique voice and style. I had a very special relationship with both Lata ji and Asha ji who have contributed in no small measure to my rise in the film industry. It is a huge loss for Maharashtra and for the whole of India that can never be compensated or replaced ever!"
