Asha Bhosle Death LIVE Updates: Akshay Kumar & Bollywood Mourn Her Demise. Family Confirms Funeral Date

"Grew up listening to Asha ji… didn’t matter the mood, there was always a song of hers that fit it perfectly. So many memories, so many emotions tied to that voice. It feels like a part of our growing up has gone silent today," Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

"Deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji, one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known. Her extraordinary musical journey, spanning decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world. Be it her soulful melodies or vibrant compositions, her voice carried timeless brilliance. I’ll always cherish the interactions I’ve had with her. My condolences to her family, admirers and music lovers. She will continue to inspire generations and her songs will forever echo in people’s lives (sic)," PM Modi wrote on X.

"No words can convey the loss I feel at Asha Bhosle ji’s demise. Unki surily awaaz hamesha hamesha ke liye amar rahegi. Om Shanti," Akshay Kumar got emotional as he paid last respect to Asha Bhosle.

"The voice that taught a billion hearts how to love, how to dance, and how to dream has found its eternal melody. Asha Tai, you were the rhythm in our pulse and the soul in our stories. "Abhi na jao chhod kar, ke dil abhi bhara nahi..." Today, our hearts are heavy, but we find peace knowing your voice is now a part of the stars (sic)," Vivek Oberoi tweeted as he shared a series of throwback photos with the singer.

Ranvir Shorey shared a throwback video where Asha Bhosle was seen crooning 'Mera Kuch Saman' as she remembered Pancham Da.

Today, the entire country and Maharashtra are mourning the end of an era. Her work and her music were a source of joy not only for India but for the entire world...Tomorrow, from 11 am to 3 pm, her loved ones will be able to pay their last respects at her home in Lower Parel. Her last rites will be performed at the Shivaji Park crematorium at 4 pm. She will be cremated with full state honours," Maharashtra State Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar said while addressing the media.

"Asha Tayi and I shared a very close relationship for the past several years. She sang several songs in multiple languages...Her songs are popular even to this day across the world. She is globally renowned. The manner in which Lata didi brought laurels to the country through her singing talent, Asha Tayi too did the same...Her demise is a huge blow to her family. We are all sad. May God give strength to the bereaved family and may her soul rest in peace," Union Minister Nitin Gadkari told ANI as he spoke about his relationship with the late singer.

"It's extremely distressing. She was one of the jewels of India. With her rendition of songs, she promoted art and culture. She was very close to PM Narendra Modi also who held her in very high regard. The sisters, Lata Didi, Usha ji and Asha Bhosle ji, have made the nation proud with their achievements and their service to art and culture. We will miss her. I pray for her family to be able to bear the irreparable loss...May her soul rest in peace," Union Minister Piyush Goyal told the media at an event in Tamil Nadu.

"She was a renowned personality in the world of music. Her passing away today is a huge loss to music. I express my condolences and pray that may her soul rest in peace," RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav told ANI as he mourned Bhosle's death.

"Big loss to the industry. I express my condolences to her family and all her fans," The Bads Of Bollywood actor (Rajat Bedi) told ANI as he expressed his grief.

"My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park," Asha's son Anand Bhosle told ANI as he revealed that his mother's last rites will be held on Monday.

Off the soundtrack, a fixed public image accompanied the music. Asha often appeared in a sari with a bindi and neatly tied bun. Performances remained energetic. Asha danced to "Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu" well into the 80s. In 2024, at a Dubai concert, Asha performed "Tauba, Tauba", copying Vicky Kaushal's hook step on stage.

Asha, one half of the Mangeshkar sisters, was known for versatility across film genres and musical moods. Listeners and industry colleagues often noted that the range displayed by Asha could not be matched even by the sister, reinforcing Asha’s separate space in Hindi film music history.
