Asha Bhosle funeral granddaughter Zanai video: The queen of singing, Asha Bhosle, is no more. The playback singer, who ruled millions of hearts with her style, swag and versatility, passed away on Sunday (April 12) at the age of 92. Her family members hosted an 'antim darshan' event for the singer so that the Bollywood fraternity, fans and her well-wishers could pay their last respects to their beloved Asha Tai.

Friends, colleagues and public figures gathered at Casa Grande in Lower Parel on Monday (April 13) to bid farewell to Asha Bhosle. Among them were Asha Parekh, AR Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar, while Anjali Tendulkar was seen comforting Bhosle's granddaughter Zanai, who appeared visibly distressed.

Anjali comforted Zanai, who cried on seeing her.

Asha Bhosle died on Sunday morning at Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure, aged 92. Her body was brought to the family home on Saturday evening, where arrangements were made for a final public viewing and state honours.

The final darshan at Casa Grande is being held with Bhosle's body placed in a glass casket decorated with white lilies. As part of state honours, the mortal remains are wrapped in the national tricolour, and police personnel offered a ceremonial salute during the viewing, according to a report in PTI

The public viewing continues at the Lower Parel residence until 3 pm, after which the funeral procession is scheduled to leave for Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. The last rites are planned for 4 pm, with family members and invited guests expected to accompany the cortege.

Family, leaders and legacy marked at Asha Bhosle funeral

Bhosle's son Anand and granddaughter Zanai remained close to the casket, supported by relatives. Siblings Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath Mangeshkar were also present, with Hridaynath seated in a wheelchair. Their elder sister Lata Mangeshkar had died in February 2022, also at the age of 92.

Asha Bhosle's career extended across more than eight decades, during which Bhosle became known for a vast and varied catalogue. Bhosle recorded romantic tracks, ghazals and upbeat songs, many of which remain popular across generations, shaping film music and stage performances for listeners in India and beyond.
