Batwara 1947 First Look: Sunny Deol is on a roll in 2026 and there are no second thoughts about it. After winning hearts with his incredible acting in Border 2 early this year, he is now gearing up for the much talked about Batwara 1947 which is one of the most anticipated releases of the year for several reasons. Produced by Aamir Khan, the movie marks Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist's first collaboration with Sunny Deol. To note, Batwara 1947 also features Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Karan Deol in the lead.

Besides, as Batwara 1947 is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the ace filmmaker has reunited with Sunny after three decades. Yes! You read it right. The actor director duo have given blockbuster hits like Ghayal, Damini and their movie before Batwara 1947 happened to be the 1996 release Ghatak. On the other hand, Sunny and Preity will also be seen sharing the screen after over 30 years which added another level of excitement around Batwara 1947. Amid the massive buzz around Batwara 1947, Aamir Khan took the social media by a storm as he shared the first look of the movie today.

Taking to Instagram, Aamir Khan shared a motion poster of Batwara 1947 featuring the lead cast. The poster dropped hints about the movie revolving around the partition, the chaos that took place amid the riots back then, the fear among the people and also narrates the story of courage of a man who chose to protect his family and held the ground. The post was captioned as, "In times of hatred and fear, he chose courage".

Batwara 1947 Teaser Release Date

As the first look is grabbing eyeballs, it is reported that the makers will be unveiling the teaser of the movie on June 15, 2026. Talking about the same, a source had reportedly told Pinkvilla, "Teaser is high on drama, emotions...Aamir Khan has lent his voice for the teaser narration, and it adds tremendous impact to it". However, an official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.

For the uninitiated, Batwara 1947 is said to be based on Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Ni. Earlier talking about Batwara 1947, initially named as Lahore 1947, during an event, Aamir stated, "Lahore 1947, the film we have made with Sunny, I had the good fortune of showing Dharmendra the film. So he has seen the film. It's not released yet, of course. But I am so glad he got to see the film. Because this was one of his favourite scripts". To note, Batwara 1947 is set to release on August 14 this year.
