The movie stars Akshay Kumar in the lead and is already becoming one of the most talked-about horror-comedies among Bollywood fans. Many are even calling it one of the most awaited films of 2026.

A major reason behind the excitement around Bhoot Bangla is the reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan. The duo is working together again after 16 years, following their last collaboration on Khatta Meetha. The film was earlier scheduled to release on April 10, but the date has now been delayed by a week. Bhooth Bangla will begin its paid previews on April 16 from 9 PM onwards. The movie promises a perfect mix of horror and comedy, aiming to entertain audiences with both scares and laughs.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. It has a total runtime of 164.52 minutes. Along with Akshay Kumar, the film features a strong supporting cast including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and Wamiqa Gabbi, which has increased the excitement among viewers.
Bhooth Bangla is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor, making it one of the most awaited releases of the year.

For his previous film Jolly LLB 3, Akshay Kumar reportedly charged around Rs 70 crore. According to a Koimoi report, the actor has taken a notable pay cut of about 28.5% for Bhoot Bangla as compared to his earlier fee. This move is seen as a practical step, especially at a time when mid-budget films are facing challenges at the box office.
Even after the reduction, Akshay Kumar's fee remains quite high compared to the rest of the cast. He is reportedly charging around Rs 50 crore for Bhooth Bangla, which is still much higher than what the other actors in the film are earning.
