Bobby Deol Gets Emotional As He Remembers Dharmendra; Says 'Nobody Can Be Like Him'
Bobby Deol became emotional while speaking about Dharmendra during an appearance on Shekhar Suman’s YouTube chat show, Shekhar Tonite. Remembering the veteran star, Bobby shared that Dharmendra was “special” and described how people across the world mourned when the actor died on November 24, 2025.

On the show, Bobby reflected on the affection that Dharmendra received from audiences throughout a long career. Bobby said, “For me, my father was someone who was loved by the entire world. I always knew everybody loved him, but after his passing, the entire world expressed grief and pain just like his family. That's who papa was. Papa was special. Nobody can be like him.”

Shekhar Suman asked the Animal actor to mention one memory that would stay forever. Bobby replied that choosing one highlight was impossible and added, “There can't be one single thing about him. Everything about him is worth remembering. Everything about him was lovely. Even his anger was lovely.”
As Bobby struggled to hold back tears, Shekhar Suman stepped in and spoke warmly about Dharmendra. Shekhar said, “He gave the same kind of love to everyone that he gave to his sons, Sunny and Bobby. He spoke to each of his fans through his Instagram videos, taking them around his farmhouse. He was the simplest man.”

Dharmendra had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai because of health complications. After treatment, Dharmendra was discharged, but reports stated that Dharmendra was later placed on a ventilator when breathing problems returned. Despite some improvement, Dharmendra died on November 24, 2025, and the film industry entered a period of mourning.
The same day, Dharmendra’s final rites were performed, drawing a large gathering from Hindi cinema. Prominent actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, reportedly attended the funeral to pay respects. Their presence underlined the strong connections Dharmendra maintained with several generations of film personalities.
Following Dharmendra’s death, audiences saw the actor on screen one last time in Ikkis. The film, released in December 2025, featured Agastya Nanda in a lead role alongside Dharmendra. Ikkis received appreciation from viewers, who embraced the film as a final reminder of Dharmendra’s presence.
