Pranav Vashisht border 2

There has been a lot of curiosity around the stern, brooding soldier in Border 2, who made waves as Lieutenant Ajit Singh. As we caught up with the man behind the character, Pranav Vashisht, we saw a sparkle in his eyes and passionate about his craft.

At Filmibeat, we love interacting with artists who are willing to give it all for their love of acting. Pranav is currently basking in the success of Border 2, but he wants to continue to explore different aspects of cinema by taking up diverse roles.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Pranav spoke about bagging a role in Border 2, working with Sunny Deol, and his dream collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. He bared his heart out in a candid interview, revealing how his parents continue to be his biggest cheerleaders. The engineer-turned-actor remained excited throughout her fun-filled chat as he shared how he landed the role mere days before the shoot commenced.

Here are excerpts from the interview-

Ques 1- How are you feeling post the release of Border 2? The film has become a superhit, creating ripples in the cinema halls. How are you processing everything?

I never thought that I'd be a part of Border 2. I remember I was a kid when I watched the film for the first time and whenever you think of a war film, especially in India, the first thing that comes to your mind is Border. When I started my journey, I never thought that I'd one day become a part of such a big film like Border. So, it's a special feeling, you know. I don't know how to describe it in words, but it is a special feeling.

Ques 2- How was your experience working with Sunny Deol? Not many actors get to work with a legend like him so early in their career.

I remember- the first time I got the news that I'm a part of the film, I couldn't believe it. You know, it was surreal because when I went on the set and I met Sunny Deol sir and everyone there, it took some time to digest that I'm a part of this film and I'm playing an important character.

Sharing screen space with Sunny sir during the initial phase of my career has been magical. This is an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime.

Ques 3- How did you prep for the role? Did you undergo any workshops or training sessions to get into the skin of the character?

Interestingly, I was locked just two days before they started the shoot in March. I was finalized on February 27. This is when I got to know that I'm doing Border 2. So, I didn't attend any workshop. When I went on the set on March 5, the training commenced- the mental training, physical training, all those drills.

There was Colonel Surinder on the set, who was basically supervising and letting us know,
giving us the mental training and what really goes behind all these operations and what is the mindset of a soldier. So, all that was done by him. And again, the army officers- they trained us physically because we used to do drills, handling the gun, running,
crawling, and shooting. They were the ones who actually trained us. And when it comes to the character training, it was done with the help of our director, Anurag Sir.
