Why Does Sara Ali Khan Need To Submit 'Affidavit' Of Faith For Her Kedarnath-Badrinath Visit?
Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan may have to file an affidavit if she wishes to continue visiting and offering prayers at the sacred Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. On March 17 (Tuesday), Badri-Kedar Temple Committee chairman Hemant Dwivedi spoke to the media and revealed a new guideline for temple visitors. As per the updated rule, individuals who are not Hindus will now have to provide an affidavit declaring their faith if they wish to offer prayers at Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Addressing Sara Ali Khan's repeated visits to Kedarnath, Dwivedi clarified that the actress would still be allowed entry-but only if she meets the new condition. As quoted by IANS, he stated that she can seek blessings at the temples provided she expresses her belief in Sanatan Dharma and submits the required affidavit.
"If Sara Ali Khan expresses her devotion towards Sanatan Dharma and submits an affidavit, we will allow her to offer prayers," the chairman said. Meanwhile, the actress is yet to address the recent development.
