Cocktail 2 Audience Review: Fans DISAPPOINTED By Shahid-Kriti's Rom-Com; Call It A ‘Total Mess’ & ‘Disaster’

Cocktail 2 Audience Review: Shahid Kapoor's fans have all the reasons to grin ear to ear with his recent release Cocktail 2 creating waves in the town. The film is being positioned as a spiritual follow-up to Homi Adajania's 2012 romantic drama Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. To note, Cocktail 2 has brought together Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon in key roles and fans can't keep calm about it. Cocktail 2 marks Shahid's first screen collaboration with Rashmika, making their pairing one of the biggest talking points among fans.

The interest around Cocktail 2 is not only because of its connection to the 2012 film. The original became known for its music, fashion and modern take on complicated relationships. Viewers now expect the sequel to carry a similar mix of romance, friendship, conflict and stylish storytelling. For Shahid, the film could add another mainstream romantic entertainer to his slate. Rashmika's growing Hindi film presence and Kriti's established fan base further raise curiosity. With the massive success of Cocktail, Cocktail 2 already has a strong recall value among urban Bollywood audiences. However, as Cocktail 2 has hit the screens, the movie seems to emerge as a major disappointment for fans.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, a user wrote gave Cocktail 2 a two star rating and tweeted, "#Cocktail2 doesn't meet up with the expectations. Idk why they have made the film there no reason to make this film. Not suggesting this film. Wait for other up coming new releases".

Another user called Rashmika a miscast in Cocktail 2 which already lags a screenplay. The tweet read as, "Rashmika has a very less screen time in comparison of other two actors, Her Hindi accent is not good, it's irritating, she was a miscast in the movie. The Screenplay is the culprit here, Pre interval sequence was dragged so does the 2nd Half, Pacing is a major issue in cocktail 2".

One of the Twitter user tweeted while first half has good music and breathtaking locations, the second half is a total disaster. "The audience will feel irritated [in the second half] as most of the scenes are stretched and the emotions are FLAT as the love triangle looks FORCED and the the audience, in most cases, will pick the side of the original pair, as the second female character lacks innocence and appears to be evil," read the tweet.

This isn't all. A user also called Cocktail 2 nightmare, a total mess and soulless sequel. He tweeted, "Cocktail 2 is a soulless cash-grab that insults the legacy of the original film. It is an exhausting waste of talent, resources, and time. Save yourself the headache and skip this absolute trainwreck entirely!"

Meanwhile, as there are reports about Cocktail 2 featuring Kriti and Rashmika as lovers, the Mimi actress, during the recent promotions clarified, "There is no lesbian story. I know, we do have that chemistry. We are three straight people, guys. It's only an emotional threesome, not physical".
