Cocktail 2 May Have a Big Treat for Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao Fans; Here's What We Know

Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2 is already carrying strong pre-release curiosity, but the film may also become a launchpad for two other Maddock Films titles. A Bollywood Hungama report has claimed that the teasers of Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story and Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha are likely to be attached to Cocktail sequel when it arrives in cinemas on June 19, 2026.

The move, if finalised, would give Maddock a high-visibility theatrical window for its next releases. Cocktail 2 stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, and is among the banner’s most watched projects for 2026. Attaching two upcoming teasers to it would allow the studio to speak to a ready-made urban multiplex audience.

Cocktail 2 may carry teasers of Prahaar and Eetha

According to the report, the final decision is still awaited, but the plan is being seriously considered. Both Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story and Eetha are scheduled for August 2026, which makes the Cocktail 2 release window useful for early buzz. The theatrical teaser route also helps studios gauge audience interest before full-scale promotions begin.

A source quoted in the report said, “In all probability, these two teasers will be shown with Cocktail 2, though the final call is yet to be taken. In the past, Maddock revealed the teaser of Bhool Chuk Maaf with Chhaava, the Shakti Shalini announcement asset with Thamma, the Chhaava teaser with Stree 2, etc. Hence, it won't be a surprise if audiences are treated to the promos for Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story and Eetha alongside Cocktail 2.”

This strategy fits a pattern that Maddock Films has used across recent releases. Instead of depending only on digital drops, the studio has often used its own theatrical slate to introduce future films. It keeps audience attention within the same production ecosystem and gives upcoming titles a premium big-screen showcase.

Why the Cocktail 2 release window matters

Cocktail 2 has an advantage because of its cast and franchise recall. The original Cocktail, released in 2012, remains remembered for its music, styling and relationship drama. While the new film is expected to have its own story and characters, the title still carries familiarity among Hindi film audiences.

For Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna fans, Cocktail 2 is already a major commercial release. For Maddock, the film can also work as a promotional bridge. Viewers entering theatres for a glossy romantic drama could walk out discussing a courtroom drama led by Rajkummar Rao and a Shraddha Kapoor film directed by Laxman Utekar.

That variety is important. Maddock’s current slate is not built around one tone or genre. The studio has moved between horror-comedy, historical drama, romance, social comedy and character-led stories. Promoting Prahaar and Eetha with Cocktail 2 would underline that range without needing a separate theatrical campaign at this stage.

Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story release date and cast

Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story is directed by Avinash Arun and is slated to release on August 7, 2026. Rajkummar Rao plays the lead role, while Wamiqa Gabbi is also part of the film. The title has drawn attention because it is centred on Ujjwal Nikam, one of India’s most widely known public prosecutors.

Rajkummar Rao’s casting gives the film immediate credibility among viewers who follow performance-driven Hindi cinema. The actor has built a career across intense dramas, social comedies, thrillers and mainstream entertainers. A film based on a legal figure gives him space for a different kind of dramatic role.

Avinash Arun’s involvement also adds interest. He is known for a grounded visual style and emotionally alert storytelling. If the teaser is attached to Cocktail 2, it may offer the first clear indication of the film’s tone, whether it leans towards courtroom drama, biographical storytelling or a broader legal thriller treatment.

Eetha marks Shraddha Kapoor’s big-screen return

Eetha is directed by Laxman Utekar and is scheduled to release on August 28, 2026. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. Utekar recently delivered Chhaava, which has made his next directorial outing a closely tracked project among trade watchers and fans.

For Shraddha Kapoor’s fan base, Eetha carries added excitement because it will mark her return to the big screen after Stree 2. That film emerged as a major box-office success and strengthened her association with Maddock’s popular horror-comedy universe. Eetha, however, is expected to be watched as a separate test of her post-Stree 2 momentum.

Randeep Hooda’s presence gives the film another strong performance hook. The actor is often associated with intense, character-heavy roles, and his pairing with Shraddha Kapoor has already created curiosity. A first teaser with Cocktail 2 could help position the film more clearly for audiences.

For now, the teaser attachment remains subject to a final call. But the timing makes commercial sense. Cocktail 2 gives Maddock a major June release, while Prahaar and Eetha follow in August. If the teasers do arrive with the Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna film, audiences may get an early look at three very different Maddock titles in one theatrical visit.
