Dhurandhar 2: Did You Know Dhurandhar Sequel Wasn't Initially On Cards? Danish Pandor Makes Big Revelation

Dhurandhar 2, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is dominating cinemas and social media, yet actor Danish Pandor has disclosed that the hit sequel was never part of the original plan. Director Aditya Dhar reportedly split the film into two parts only after seeing how strongly the material worked on screen.

Did You Know Dhurandhar 2 Wasn t Initially On Cards

The Ranveer Singh-led film has turned into a major pop‑culture moment, with meme pages dissecting scenes and viewers praising what many call “peak detailing by Aditya Dhar.” Discussions around performances, especially supporting characters like Uzair Baloch played by Danish Pandor, continue as the film sustains strong box office momentum worldwide.

Dhurandhar 2 sequel decision and script strength

Speaking to News18, Danish Pandor explained how Dhurandhar 2 was born unexpectedly out of the original shoot. The team had not mapped out a franchise structure during planning, but the narrative proved difficult to compress. Once the makers reviewed the footage, they felt the story needed more space to unfold.

Pandor recalled the turning point, saying, “There was no initial discussion to make a two-part film. When we were shooting for it and the makers came across the footage, they felt it was really amazing. The script was so gripping and good that they couldn't chop it off. That's when they decided to release the film in two instalments. It would be the best gift that we could give the audience. That's how the plan got executed.”

Dhurandhar 2 release strategy and audience response

The actor also highlighted how the carefully timed release calendar helped Dhurandhar: The Revenge perform strongly. Both chapters were filmed together, similar to Gangs of Wasseypur, and the producers opted for a three‑month gap between releases. Pandor feels this short interval kept the storyline vivid in viewers’ minds and supported intense word‑of‑mouth.

Pandor pointed out that Dhurandhar’s earlier OTT release allowed many viewers to revisit the first part before watching Dhurandhar 2 in theatres. This streaming availability, combined with continuous social media chatter, meant the narrative never really left the public conversation, helping Dhurandhar: The Revenge open strongly and sustain heavy footfall across markets.

Dhurandhar 2 impact on Danish Pandor's career

Danish Pandor, who appears as gangster Uzair Baloch, described the project as a turning point while keeping expectations grounded. In the same interview, Pandor thanked God, casting director Mukesh Chhabra for selecting the actor, and Aditya Dhar for showing trust in the performance, especially in such a large ensemble anchored by Ranveer Singh.

Despite the wide recognition from Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2, Pandor said the increased attention has not changed personal work habits. The actor is still contacting filmmakers and casting directors, believing that consistent outreach is necessary. Danish acknowledged that more offers are arriving since Dhurandhar: The Revenge released, yet stressed the need to avoid becoming complacent after one successful outing.

Dhurandhar 2 features Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan returning to the franchise. At the Indian box office, the film has earned Rs 690 crore in its first week, with global collections of Rs 1088 crore. As the sequel continues its strong run, the unplanned expansion into two parts and the detailed storytelling remain central to discussions among Indian cinema fans.
