Don 3 Row | Ammy Virk Backs Ranveer Singh, Calls Out Industry's Double Standards: They Ignored Him When…

Ammy Virk has backed Ranveer Singh as debate grows over the reported Don 3 fallout with Excel Entertainment. Virk claimed the production house ignored Ranveer when recent films underperformed, yet demanded money back after Dhurandhar: The Revenge became a major box office success earlier this year.

The dispute centres on reports that Ranveer exited Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 just weeks before filming. Industry chatter suggests Excel Entertainment then asked Ranveer to return Rs 45 crore. The matter escalated online once the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, or FWICE, became involved and began examining the case.

Speaking to Connect Cine, Ammy Virk argued that the timing of Don 3 raised fairness questions. He said, "I feel, when he had a few flops, then you (Excel) could have started Don 3. Then they ignored him. Now that Dhurandhar is a hit, they are asking for their money back."

Virk stressed that Ranveer should decline any request to repay the full amount. He added, "They can do whatever they want. Whatever they are owed of Rs 2-4 crore, take that and move on. Who is going to give Rs 45 crore?" Virk believed Ranveer was not responsible for the stand-off.

Ammy Virk shared that people upset with Ranveer's decision were welcome to approach the courts. Virk suggested legal fights often last many years and rarely change much. For Virk, Ranveer had honoured the work, especially on Dhurandhar, where Ranveer reportedly invested huge personal and professional effort.

Virk recalled first speaking to Ranveer after the initial Dhurandhar trailer released and Ranveer's daughter had been born. He said, "I congratulated him after Dhurandhar's trailer came out. His daughter was born by then. He sent me a long message in English. He told me that I have invested everything in this film. I told him to wait and see and said that his daughter has brought him good luck and god was going to be kind. And that's what happened. His daughter brought him such good luck."

Before the second Dhurandhar film reached cinemas, Virk said he again spoke with Ranveer and playfully credited the child's fortune for the first film's performance. Virk remarked that children arrive with their own luck. The next release also did very well, which, according to Virk, left Ranveer deeply pleased and relieved.

Other voices have stepped into the Don 3 row around Ranveer Singh. CINTAA's Upasana Singh publicly supported Ranveer, saying, "Ranveer Singh Has Truly Been A Dhurandhar'." One report stated Ranveer admitted the actor would not have walked away from Don 3 if Dhurandhar had not become a blockbuster hit.

Another article noted that Ranveer's father thanked Poonam Dhillon for standing by Ranveer, saying, "He Didn't Deserve It." On the same news page, a Smart TV Buying Guide 2026 was also featured, showing how the Don 3 dispute sat alongside other entertainment and consumer coverage.

Ammy Virk described Ranveer as a close friend and felt proud to watch one of India's leading actors pass new milestones despite the Don 3 row. With Excel Entertainment, FWICE and various colleagues all weighing in, the dispute continues, yet Virk's stance stays clear that Ranveer Singh should not return Rs 45 crore.
