Exclusive! Jaaved Jaaferi Comes Out In Support Of Ananya Panday Amid Bharatnatyam Trolling
In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat's Hesha Chimah, Jaaved Jaaferi came to Ananya Panday's defense amid the severe online trolling surrounding her Bharatanatyam fusion dance sequence in Chand Mera Dil. The veteran actor and dancer argued that Ananya's intention was simply to entertain audiences and that her effort should be appreciated rather than ridiculed.
Jaaved further pointed out that Ananya never claimed to be a professionally trained Bharatanatyam dancer. According to him, she did not present herself as an expert in the classical dance form, and therefore, people should not be judging her performance by the standards expected of a trained Bharatanatyam artist. "Ananya Panday aapko bol nahi rahi that she is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer," the actor said.
Jaaved Jaaferi Calls Out Online Trolls
In the same interview, Jaaved Jaaferi strongly criticized the culture of online trolling, stating that many people target others simply because they have a phone and access to social media. The actor expressed concern over how easily individuals pass harsh judgments and spread negativity online without considering the impact of their words.
Jaaved further noted that the freedom offered by social media often leads some users to make disrespectful and unnecessary remarks about everyone - from film stars to the country's most prominent figures, like Amitabh Bachchan and the Prime Minister.
