Ginny Weds Sunny 2: After Triptii Dimri, Medha Shankar Praises Avinash Tiwary; Calls Him Reason She Said Yes

As promotions for Avinash Tiwary's Ginny Weds Sunny 2 pick up pace, Medha Shankr, who has come forward to praise her co-star Avinash Tiwary, revealed that he was the key reason she chose to be a part of the film.

Speaking during promotional interactions, Medha shared that beyond the script and scale, Avinash's presence made her decision easier. She described her experience on set as one built on trust and comfort, something she believes is especially important for women in the industry.

She said, "When you are a female actress, and you seem docile, people don't take you seriously. (Speaking) from a female perspective. It's primarily because of Avinash that I felt welcomed. He's so welcoming to new talent, to women... He's a secure actor. He gave me the space to open up about what I'm not okay with and what I would do differently. It has started from Avinash, and of course, Prasshant Jha sir is also very welcoming and very secure with feedback. Both gave me the space I needed to speak up with courage."

She added, "He's the kind of actor who has suggested that I take the lines that go with my character in the film. After reading the script, he feels like Ginny should take a stand about a certain thing, he suggests that. he has nothing to gain from doing so. I've never had a male co-actor recommend that the girl's character should be more meaty."

This isn't the first time Avinash has been praised by a co-star. Earlier, his Laila Majnu co-star Triptii Dimri had also spoken about how supportive he was during her early days.

"I remember being very nervous on Laila Majnu's set. Mujhe acting ka A bhi nahi aata tha tab. Main itni nervous ho jaati thi ki kabhi-kabhi lagta tha yeh meri cup of tea hi nahi hai, I can't do this,

Triptii recalled how Avinash stepped in at the right time and encouraged her not to give up. "Joh sunne ke baad Avinash hi tha jisne mujhe bola, 'Nahi yaar, you should be able to try.' He is the one who actually advised me to go for an acting workshop," she added.

That single suggestion, according to Triptii, became a turning point in her journey. "That acting workshop changed my life. So thank you, Avinash, for recommending that workshop," she said with gratitude. She also praised him for being a supportive co-actor, saying, "It has been a wonderful journey. I think he is a wonderful person, a very supportive co-actor."

Positioned as a standalone yet a successor, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 explores a mismatched love story set against the chaos of a big Indian wedding. The film features Avinash as a headstrong wrestler and Medha as a free-spirited woman, with much of the story unfolding in the scenic hills of Mussoorie. Blending humour, emotions, and wedding drama, the film promises to be a wholesome family entertainer.
