Ginny Wedss Sunny 2: 'Banno Tera Swagger' Fame Swati Sharma Talks About Her Latest Song 'Bad Luck Kharab Hai'
Swati Sharma, known for her hit song "Banno Tera Swagger" from Tanu Weds Manu Returns and for lending her voice to several film soundtracks including tracks like "Oh My Baby," "Dum Masala," and "Tum Jo Gaye" from Jugg Jugg Jeeyo, has carved a space for herself with her versatile and expressive singing. The singer is now adding to the buzz around "Bad Luck Kharab Hai" from Ginny Weds Sunny 2, as she opened up about the creative process behind her latest track.

Speaking about her rendition, she explained, "I tried to create the same balance in my singing that the song carries in its lyrics. Wherever the traditional emotion came in, I kept the texture rooted and expressive, and when the modern references appeared, I added a more playful, contemporary energy," crediting composers Haroon-Gavin for crafting a fresh soundscape and lyricist Siddhant Kaushal for penning layered and witty lines.
Highlighting the satirical undertone of the track, the singer noted, "Satire in a song is all about attitude. I used slight pauses, playful stress on certain words, and a hint of mischief in the voice. The idea was to make listeners smile while still feeling the message behind the lyrics."
When asked about her wide range in singing from quirky to soft to something different, she mentions, "For me, every song has its own identity. Once I understand the emotion, story, and character behind it, the voice naturally evolves. Some songs need power, some vulnerability, and some pure fun. Exploring these shades is what I enjoy the most, and it comes from years of practice and understanding voice culture."
The recording process, however, wasn't without its challenges. The singer revealed, "It needed the right mix of energy, expression, and precision to make it instantly catchy while still sounding effortless. Sometimes what sounds easiest is actually the hardest to deliver."
She also spoke warmly about collaborating with co-singers Vijay Amala and Kalpana Gandharva, whose contributions brought additional vibrancy to the track. With a strong composition and clever lyrics at its core, she described the overall experience as both challenging and highly enjoyable.
With music playing a crucial role in shaping the film's tone, the soundtrack of Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is already generating buzz for its refreshing mix of sounds and styles.
