According to an ABP News report, Varun is charging Rs 30 crore for the film, placing Varun as the highest-earning cast member on this project. The same report notes this salary is a sharp rise when compared with his other recent films. For Border 2, the actor was reportedly paid around Rs 10 crore. For Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Varun is said to have received Rs 15 crore.

The report further states that Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is being made on an estimated budget of Rs 50 crore. Within this reported cost, Varun Dhawan's Rs 30 crore remuneration forms a major share, underlining the financial backing for Varun's presence in the film.

On the other hand, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur reportedly charged Rs 4 and 5 crore respectively. Mouni Roy, who plays an interesting part in the show, is said to have charged Rs 1.5 crore. Seasoned actors Chunky Pandey and Rakesh Bedi got Rs 90 lakh and 70 lakh respectively. However, these figures are not officially confirmed by the makers or the actors.
