Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry Song: Fierce Road-Trip Anthem 'Sherni' Is Out Ahead Of Release

Patralekhaa and Maanvi Gagroo starrer slice-of-life film Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry's new song Sherni has been released by the makers. Directed by Kartik Chaudhry, the film is set to release in theatres on May 29 and also stars Arif Zakaria, Nishank Verma, and Sveta Salve in pivotal roles.

Touted as a fierce road-trip anthem, Sherni captures the spirit of the film's protagonists - two women who navigate life's challenges with courage, freedom, and resilience. The track has been sung by Ravindra Upadhyay, known for the popular song Jiya Laage Na from Talaash. The lyrics have been penned by Niket Pandey, while the music has been composed and produced by Arjun Iyer, who has also created the film's entire album and background score.

Speaking about the song, director Kartik Chaudhry shared, "While conceptualising the music for Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry, Arjun Iyer and I wanted to create a fierce road-trip anthem that truly captured the spirit of Heer and Sara - two women who face life's challenges head-on. When Arjun sent me a scratch track titled Do Sherniyaa, I instantly connected with its energy. Niket Pandey then brought the idea alive lyrically, and Sherni was born.

We needed a voice that could capture the fierceness, freedom, and emotional depth of the track, and Ravindra Upadhyay was the perfect fit. I've admired his voice since Jiya Laage Na from Talaash, and what he has brought to Sherni is truly special."

Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry is backed by Sony Music India and produced by Maghaa Creations (Dinesh Soni), Next Level Productions (Neeraj Ruhil and Subhav Sharma), the producers behind the cult classic Vadh, and Opticus Inc, the producers of Nil Battey Sannata. Raj Singh Chaudhary, writer of Gulaal and director of the Netflix film Thar, serves as the creative producer.
