Heer Sara New Release Date: Patralekhaa-Maanvi's Road Trip Film Gets Postponed; Here's When It Will Premiere

The women-led road drama headlined by Patralekhaa and Maanvi Gagroo will now reach cinemas on June 12. Earlier planned for May 29, the film has also dropped “Pondicherry” from its name. The project, once called Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry, will now be released nationwide simply as Heer Sara.

Heer Sara Gets A New Release Date

Directed by Kartik Chaudhry, Heer Sara features Patralekhaa and Maanvi Gagroo in central roles, with Arif Zakaria, Shveta Salve and Nishank Verma in key supporting parts. The story follows two women who confront personal crises and social pressures while travelling, using the journey to search for emotional release and a new sense of direction.

Heer Sara title change and release details

The team behind Heer Sara opted to shorten the earlier title after internal discussions on recall and mood. They felt the concise name carried stronger emotional impact and would stay longer with audiences. The change aligned with a revised release plan, shifting the date to June 12 for strategic reasons.

The title and date shift can be tracked clearly through the film’s updated release schedule, as shared by the makers.

Heer Sara trailer response and promotional strategy

The recently released trailer of Heer Sara drew a strong response from viewers and industry collaborators. After assessing this reaction, the producers postponed the release to create a longer promotional run. Partners and fans expressed interest in joining campaigns, so the team chose to use the additional fortnight to expand visibility.

According to the makers, keeping Heer Sara in the spotlight for two more weeks will help sustain attention before release. They see the extra time as an opportunity to arrange wider city visits, digital interactions and media coverage. The aim is to ensure the road drama reaches diverse cinema audiences when it opens on June 12.

Heer Sara storyline, journey and creative backing

The trailer for Heer Sara reveals a road-trip narrative built around Heer and Sara’s motorcycle ride from Indore to Pondicherry. Their route becomes a way to seek freedom, clarity and a different outlook on life. Along the way, the characters address unresolved pain and question long-held expectations that have shaped their choices.

Heer Sara is produced by Raj Singh Chaudhary, who is associated with films such as Gulaal and Thar. The film is backed by Sony Music India and produced by Maghaa Creations, Next Level Productions and Opticus Inc. With its new title and revised release date, the team now focuses on completing promotions before audiences watch the story unfold in theatres.
