Ikkis Budget, Box Office Target: Here’s How Much Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis Should Earn To Become HIT - EXCLUSIVE
Ikkis Budget And Box Office Target Exclusive: Welcoming the New Year 2026 with a theatrical release, Ikkis arrives in cinemas today (January 1). Agastya Nanda makes his much-awaited big-screen debut with the film, drawing attention as the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. Joining him is Simar Bhatia, who also marks her first appearance in films. She is the niece of Akshay Kumar, adding further curiosity around the cast.

What truly defines Ikkis is its genre. The film is a biographical war drama, a genre known for telling intense, meaningful stories that leave a strong impact. Adding to the film's emotional depth is the presence of Dharmendra in his final on-screen role.
IKKIS OVERVIEW: BUDGET, PLOT & WHAT TO EXPECT
Breaking away from his usual suspense-driven cinema, filmmaker Sriram Raghavan presents Ikkis as a powerful war drama inspired by real events. The film is based on the extraordinary life of Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Ikkis brings to life the heroic Battle of Basantar. The narrative highlights how Arun Khetarpal, just 21 years old at the time, showed unmatched courage on the battlefield. Facing enemy tanks head-on, he fought fearlessly until his last breath. Though he lost his life in combat, his actions changed the course of the battle and earned him the country's highest military honour.
While the film delivers gripping war sequences and large-scale tank combat, it also takes time to explore the man behind the uniform. Ikkis follows Arun's journey from his days as a disciplined cadet at the National Defence Academy to his rise as a national hero. The story gives equal importance to his personal life, highlighting his bond with his family and weaving in a soft love track that adds emotional depth to the intense war narrative.
Agastya Nanda steps into the lead role as Arun Khetarpal, taking on one of the most challenging performances of his career so far. After making his acting debut with The Archies in 2023, Ikkis marks his first major theatrical release and showcases him in a far more demanding and serious role.
Adding further gravitas is late Dharmendra, who plays Arun's father, M.L. Khetarpal. Jaideep Ahlawat is seen as a Pakistani Army officer, while Sikandar Kher portrays an Indian Army officer, adding intensity to the war drama. The film also features Ekavali Khanna as Maryam Nisar and Simar Bhatia as Kiran, along with Kunal Mann, Shree Bishnoi, Mohan Godara and Aryan Pushkar in key supporting roles.
Filmibeat recently spoke to trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal to understand the box office expectations for Ikkis. While discussing the film's budget, he shared his views, saying, "The exact budget of the film has not been officially revealed. Some reports suggest it is around ₹60 crore, while others claim it is closer to ₹40 crore. Because of these varying figures, it is difficult to confirm the actual budget."
IKKIS BOX OFFICE TARGET UPDATE
Talking about its box-office target, Rohit added, "When it comes to box office success, the numbers will matter more than the budget. Considering that the film features a new lead actor, has the Dharmendra factor, and is releasing during a holiday period, even a ₹50-60 crore lifetime collection would be enough for it to be called a hit, regardless of its original cost."
The trade analyst concluded by saying, "There is always pressure associated with box office performance, but one must also understand the limitations. You cannot place excessive expectations on a young newcomer, especially when the film is a war drama. This is not a light romantic film that can instantly connect with a large youth audience. These factors need to be taken into account while judging the film's performance."
