In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, King B Chouhan got candid about his new project.

"Making this film and bringing it to audiences has been a journey in itself. I come from a very ordinary, middle-class background with no film connections or privileges. As a child, I dared to dream of becoming an actor, even when people found it unrealistic," he quipped.

He added that over time, his passion for acting became clearer, and with his family's support, he took his first steps into the industry. "I realised that entering the industry is one thing, surviving is another, and truly making a mark is something else altogether," he said.

Speaking about the film, he described it as a wholesome entertainer with depth. "It's a full masala film that keeps you smiling, yet leaves you with a meaningful social message. It's the kind of cinema where you might tear up even as you laugh."

He further shared that the film addresses social issues through an engaging narrative. "The protagonist challenges the system and tries to solve issues in Punjab. He faces difficulties but handles them with humour, making people laugh while addressing serious concerns."

Talking about his personal connection to the story, he said, "I found it very relatable. I've had a similar journey in the industry for 17 years. Being from Punjab, I feel that people don't really want to leave their homes and go abroad-it often happens due to limited opportunities. Emotionally, we never fully detach; a part of us always wants to return. This story beautifully expresses those emotions."

Directed by Sukhvir Singh and produced by Starmoon Film Productions in association with Chakora Productions, Dama Dum Mast Kalandar tells a quirky yet emotional story rooted in friendship and struggle. The film also stars Anita Devgan, Rupinder Rupi, Mintu Kapa, Sukhdev Barnala, Manpreet Singh, Pritish Narula, Sammy Gill and Pahulpreet Singh in pivotal roles
