Manoj Bajpayee Shares His Take On FWICE's Non-Cooperation Directive Against Ranveer Singh: As Colleagues...
Manoj Bajpayee has weighed in on the growing row involving Ranveer Singh, FWICE and Don 3. At the trailer launch of Manoj Bajpayee’s new film Governor, the actor said the film fraternity hopes the dispute ends soon, as discussions around the non-cooperation directive dominate Bollywood conversations.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) earlier issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after the Don 3 dispute. The move raised questions about whether Ranveer Singh could continue working on film sets, and how such decisions affect actors, producers and crew members linked with big-budget projects.

During the Governor event on Tuesday, Manoj Bajpayee was asked how actors can protect themselves in such situations. The question directly referenced the ongoing disagreement between Ranveer Singh and FWICE. Manoj Bajpayee replied that many colleagues still only know what has appeared in media coverage and online chatter.
Addressing the matter, Manoj Bajpayee said the industry remained short of concrete details. Manoj Bajpayee explained that people were still depending on public reports rather than first-hand information about Ranveer Singh and Don 3. Manoj Bajpayee added, "All the people in this industry are only reading it on social media. We don't have detailed information about it, but as colleagues and fellow fraternity members, we hope the matter is sorted out soon."
Manoj Bajpayee FWICE Ranveer Singh Don 3 dispute background
The Don 3 controversy started after Ranveer Singh stepped away from the film produced by Excel Entertainment. Producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly told film bodies that nearly Rs 45 crore had already gone into pre-production, based on Ranveer Singh’s commitment to headline the new Don instalment.
Following Ranveer Singh’s decision to exit, Excel Entertainment is reported to have sought compensation over the money spent before shoot. FWICE then called Ranveer Singh to appear before the organisation several times, to present Ranveer Singh’s version. The actor allegedly did not attend those meetings, leading FWICE to announce its non-cooperation step.

FWICE chief advisor and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit later clarified what the directive implies for Ranveer Singh’s future work. In an interaction with Etimes, Ashoke Pandit stated that FWICE had not formally barred Ranveer Singh from the industry, even though some viewers interpreted the move as a complete ban.
Ashoke Pandit explained that FWICE’s notice covers workers from about 30 different crafts in cinema. Pandit said, "See, first of all, the entire conversation has become wrong. It's not a ban. See, we are not court; we can't ban people, yaar. So we have issued a non-cooperation. Non-cooperation means all our members who belong to 30 crafts, they will not work with him. It's my choice whether I want to work with him or not."
Manoj Bajpayee, meanwhile, is preparing for the release of Governor, which is set against India’s economic crisis in 1991. The trailer launch, held ahead of the release, became a platform for questions on the Ranveer Singh, FWICE and Don 3 dispute, even as the film industry waits for a resolution.
