According to a report published in ETV Bharat, the National Film Awards 2026 winners announcement, which was supposed to be announced on July 3, will not be taking place today. Yes! The big announcement for the winners of the prestigious award has been delayed.

Undoubtedly, with the delay in the announcement, everyone has been speculating about when the winners of the National Film Awards 2026 will be announced. As per ETV Bharat, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is likely to take place later this month. However, no official announcement in this regard has been made so far.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Malayalam cinema is likely to sweep away the National Film Awards 2026. While movies like Amaran, Bramayugam, Manjummel Boys and Kishkindha Kaandam have been creating buzz along with Kalki 2898 AD, Devara, Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran etc have been in the race to win the top actor award along with Allu Arjun etc. To note, while the 72nd National Award Winners will be given Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus medals based on the categories, they will also be getting a cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs and 2 lakhs respectively along with a certificate signed by the president.
