Nishank Verma Opens Up On His Role in Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry: I Didn’t Relate to Him at All

Actor Nishank Verma, known for as writer of Netflix's Jamtara and his acting performances in show Haale Dil, Aarya and more, recently opened up about his working experience with Maanvi Gagroo and Patralekha starrer on Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry film which is set to release in theaters on 29th May.

The actor revealed why he instantly connected with the film despite playing a character unlike any role he has portrayed before.

Speaking about why he chose to say yes to the project, Nishank shared, "I said yes to the film because the character is quite the opposite of the kind of roles that usually come my way - the nice, kind guy. Since this character had a shade that wasn't very likeable, I was excited to explore playing him. Honestly, I didn't personally relate to the character much. He's quite oblivious to the world around him and deeply steeped in his privilege, which is something I don't relate to at all."

The actor also spoke fondly about collaborating with director Kartik. "Kartik has been my senior since school and later in film school, so we go back a long way. We've worked together before on Shadistan, directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary, and also on an MTV project. So, there was a great comfort level between us, and I had a really good time working with him," he said.

Sharing a memorable behind-the-scenes moment, Nishank said, "There was this chaotic night shoot on a boat in a lake where the walkie-talkies weren't working properly. There was a lot of shouting, confusion, and miscommunication, but it was also a lot of fun because it had that wild boys' energy on set. I also remember spending time with Manvi during the Pondicherry schedule, especially while shooting the beach scenes under the moonlight."

Directed by Kartik Chaudhry, backed by Sony Music India and produced by Maghaa Creations (Dinesh Soni), Next Level Productions (Neeraj Ruhil and Subhav Sharma) - producers of the cult classic "Vadh" - and Opticus Inc - producers of Nil Battey Sannata, Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry also features Arif Zakaria and Shveta Salve in pivotal roles. Raj Singh Chaudhary (writer of Gulaal and director of the Netflix film Thar) serves as creative producer.
