No Evidence Against Shraddha Kapoor, Orry, Nora Fatehi in Mumbai Drug Case; Police Share Update
The Anti Narcotics Cell is set to file a supplementary chargesheet in the Mumbai mephedrone case, focusing on already in custody and other suspects. Celebrities named in earlier records are not currently linked to the alleged drug network, though investigators keep options open for future action if new evidence emerges.
Bollywood figures Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, influencer Orry and politician Zeeshan Siddique are set to stay out of the supplementary chargesheet in the 2022 Mumbai drug supply case involving mephedrone, with the Anti Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police stating that no evidence has surfaced yet that directly connects these names to the alleged drug network.

The upcoming supplementary chargesheet, expected next week, will instead focus on accused already in custody and others still being tracked. Officers said the present investigation stage is complete based on available material, and the decision not to include the celebrities follows a review of statements, digital records and other evidence collected over the past two years in the mephedrone probe.
Mumbai drug supply case: celebrities, mephedrone probe and ANC chargesheet
A source familiar with the file said, "An initial chargesheet was filed against three persons and a supplementary chargesheet will now be filed against two arrested accused and other wanted accused. We do not have enough evidence to link the celebrities to the case so far." This position reflects the present record, but investigators are keeping options open for future action.
Police officers clarified that the decision does not amount to a clean chit for Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, Orry or Zeeshan Siddique. The officer linked to the case said, "We will be filing a supplementary chargesheet against Lavish and Mohammad Iqbal Ansari who was arrested in November apart from other wanted accused in the case. We have however so far not found any evidence against the celebrities and hence they will not be named."
Mumbai drug supply case: remand report, parties and celebrity references
In November 2024, the same celebrities’ names had appeared in a remand application filed while police sought extended custody of accused Mohammad Sohail Shaikh, also known as Lavish. The remand note had relied on Lavish’s alleged statements, which linked drug parties with well-known personalities, prompting Mumbai Police to issue summons and record detailed statements from some of them, including Orry and Siddhant Kapoor.
When seeking additional custody for Lavish on 13 November 2024, the remand report submitted in court stated, "Further investigation into the said accused No. 05 (Lavish) has revealed that he is organising drug parties in the country and abroad and supplying drugs to those parties. The said accused has previously organised drug parties in the country and abroad with …Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, Zeeshan Siddique Ori alias Orhan.… and many other people and has himself participated in them and supplied drugs to these and other people," quoting what police said had emerged during questioning.
Mumbai drug supply case: mephedrone seizure timeline and ANC investigation
The mephedrone case dates back to 4 August 2022, when the Anti Narcotics Cell arrested 28-year-old Mohammad Shahrukh Shaikh and claimed to seize 995 grams of mephedrone valued at Rs one lakh. A search at Shahrukh Shaikh’s residence the next day allegedly turned up several more bags of the substance, and investigators say they soon discovered that Shahrukh Shaikh had obtained a passport with forged documents to travel to Dubai and meet Lavish.
| Key date | Event in Mumbai drug supply case |
|---|---|
| 4 August 2022 | ANC arrests Mohammad Shahrukh Shaikh; seizes 995 grams mephedrone worth Rs one lakh. |
| 5 August 2022 | Search at Shahrukh Shaikh’s house; more mephedrone bags allegedly recovered. |
| 2022 | Initial chargesheet filed against three accused by ANC. |
| 2 November 2024 | Accused Lavish deported from Dubai and arrested by ANC. |
| 13 November 2024 | Remand report mentions celebrities in alleged drug parties. |
During follow-up investigations after the 2022 arrests, the ANC picked up two more suspects, identified as Fazle Siddique and Mohammad Gulfaraz Shaikh, for allegedly being part of the supply chain feeding mephedrone into Mumbai. A chargesheet naming these three was filed, while police obtained a non-bailable warrant against Lavish, who investigators believed had meanwhile left India and was staying in Dubai.
Lavish was finally deported from Dubai on 2 November 2024 and arrested on arrival by the ANC, which then treated him as a central figure in the Mumbai drug supply case. According to police, Lavish claimed during interrogation that he worked for alleged international drug peddler Salim Dola, and his account led officers to a factory in Sangli, where he said mephedrone was being produced at scale for distribution.
When ANC teams reached Sangli, they discovered the factory had already been raided and shut down by the crime branch in 2024, limiting the scope for fresh seizures. Investigators still recorded the Sangli visit in the case file, treating it as corroboration for parts of Lavish’s narrative, while continuing to examine financial trails, travel records and communications linked to the wider Mumbai drug supply case.
The celebrities’ names first appeared in official records when the ANC registered the drug case in 2022 and later during remand proceedings in 2024, but the present evidence review has not yielded independent material supporting those references. Officers have said the celebrities could still face charges at a later stage if new credible evidence is found, yet for now the supplementary chargesheet will proceed without including Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, Orry or Zeeshan Siddique among the accused.
