O'Romeo Early Review: Shahid Kapoor fans have all the reasons to be on cloud nine and rightfully so. After all, he is coming with the first release of 2026. After leaving fans in awe with his performance as ACP Dev Ambre in Deva last year, Shahid is now here with the much talked about O'Romeo which has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Touted to be an action thriller, O'Romeo is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj and also features Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Vikrant Massey.

For the uninitiated, O'Romeo is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. Interestingly, the movie marks Vishal Bhardwaj's fourth collaboration with Shahid after Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon. In fact, as the director and actor have collaborated after 9 years, fans undoubtedly can't keep calm about it. In a tweet shared by actor turned critic Kuldeep Gadhvi, O'Romeo is a 'gripping action-romantic thriller with intense drama and strong emotional undercurrents which leave a solid impact". In a detailed review, Kuldeep wrote, "O'Romeo is a bold and gritty romantic action thriller that weaves unrequited passion with intense crime drama". He further emphasised that the movie delivers scale, intensity and raw emotion. Furthermore, Gadhvi hailed Shahid's fierce and fearless performance and emphasised it's his career defining stint. He also asserted that Triptii brought emotional depth to the story and the entire case elevated the film's scope. While Kuldeep Gadhvi gave O'Romeo a rating of 4 stars, he called this Shahid starrer a 'baap level film, a complete mass + class cinematic experience'.

Meanwhile, Shahid penned a sweet note for director Vishal Bhardwaj and wrote, "Thank you for OROMEO!!! Another character for me that's etched in my filmography. So proud, so happy and so grateful".
